A new direction

Most pictures on Pinterest and Houzz are all white.  Historical documents suggest this is accurate because back then a pure white bathroom was considered the best for sanitary purposes. I figured carrera marble hex tiles for the floor, white subway, white fixtures.. Even white walls if I could get away with it.

So now that this is our floor tile, it seems we're going to add some color.

And I am thinking about using a natural stain on the woodwork.

We harvested an original medicine off of craigslist and underneath some peachy peeling paint, it most definitely is stain grade.

We have an ugly bathroom

We have an ugly bathroom.  Being awfully practical we've lived with it for quite some time, but have finally had enough!  Here it is in all it's original glory.

Eleven billion years ago, I got sick of the wallpaper and pulled it off and painted the walls white. Still ugly.  With baskets!

Underneath the radiator, we found a sliver of original tiles.  Working on two small, time intensive projects (aka kids) we let that fester.

And now Mr. Jefferson has started going after the tiles, a row at a time.  They are definitely not what I expected!  Especially when every single Bungalow Bathroom is white, white, white!
